Do you sell gluten-free bread?
No. At Bread and Flours, we specialize in naturally leavened sourdough breads made with wheat and other gluten-containing grains. While some people find long-fermented sourdough easier to digest, our products are not gluten-free and are not suitable for individuals with celiac disease or severe gluten sensitivities.
Because gluten is present throughout our bakery, we cannot guarantee that any product is free from gluten or cross-contact. We believe in being transparent about what we do best: handcrafted products made with thoughtfully sourced ingredients and traditional baking methods.
How do I care for my bread?
Our bread is best enjoyed fresh the day you bring it home, but it can easily be enjoyed for several days with simple care.
For same-day enjoyment, keep it at room temperature, wrapped in a clean kitchen towel to help preserve the crust. Store it away from direct light, heat, and moisture.
For longer storage, we recommend slicing and freezing if you are not going to eat within 3 days. It reheats beautifully—toast slices directly from frozen, or warm in the oven until the crust is revived and the center is soft.
We do not recommend storing bread in the refrigerator, as it tends to dry it out more quickly.
Over time, bread naturally stales. This isn’t spoilage—it’s a physical process where moisture slowly migrates from the crumb toward the crust and into the surrounding air. Because we don’t use preservatives or stabilizers, this process happens more naturally in our loaves, causing them to firm up and harden as they age.
Good bread is living food—handle it gently, and it will serve you well.
Do you do wholesale or special events?
Yes, we do offer select wholesale and special events options, depending on volume and availability.
We currently partner with select cafes and restaurants that share our commitment to quality.
For special event inquiries, we may be able to accommodate larger orders with advance notice, depending on the order date and size.
If you're interested in working with us, please reach out directly with details about your request, and we'll let you know what’s possible.
Do you sell out of your bread?
Yes—on some days we have plenty of bread available throughout the day, and on other days we do sell out of certain selections.
We do our best to plan each day carefully to ensure bread is available through closing, but demand can vary, and some days certain items may sell out earlier than expected.
We do not limit the number of loaves customers can purchase, and many of our guests choose to buy extra loaves to freeze at home for later enjoyment.
We also offer a selection of frozen breads in our front merchandiser freezer—perfect for enjoying Bread and Flours whenever you want.
We appreciate your understanding and do our best to balance freshness, quality, and availability.
