After 5pm on January 20th we will close all orders for our sourdough loaves, and list them as "out of stock".
We will be accepting orders for all pantry items up to 12 noon on January 22nd, 2021.
After 12 noon January 22nd, 2021 we will show all our items are "out of stock".
We will then post our "new" updated menu, Sunday evening, January 24th, 2021.

Bread and Flours is an artisan whole grain sourdough bread company, we grind fresh flour for our customers, and we hand make all our pantry selections in our home bakery. Yes that is right, everything is homemade literally! We send out an email Sunday evenings to share our weekly menu. Our menu changes with new selections of sourdough bread, preserves, and specialty items. Scroll down this "home" page to see this weeks current selections. To order online, visit our "shop" tab at breadandflours.com We kindly ask all to read our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page to understand our process and our baking style so that all may be informed before making your purchases. The selections for the week will be shown, and you can make your payment there. Please also make sure to include the following: your address and any special instructions (gate code, etc), and a mobile number. This will help keep us all safer by eliminating the need for money and/or credit cards to pass hands.
At this time, we do not ship our products around the country. We offer door delivery to the Coachella Valley.
We deliver to the following local communities: Palm Springs, Desert Hot Springs (**DHS customers we meet at 845 am at the Chevron Station on Gene Autry near I-10) Bermuda Dunes, Cathedral City, Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert, Indian Wells, La Quinta, Indio and Coachella.
For all door delivery, the charge is $2.50, for all orders. Our stops can vary weekly, and that means you could have different delivery arrival this week from your last delivery. Our delivery routes are "optimized" for speed and efficiency. Your paid invoice is your guarantee that we will deliver to you. We will place all your items in a recyclable brown paper bag and leave it at your door.

We are back!
Jim...They are back, I thought they never left?
Yes, we never left, we were awaiting our mill to be once again operational to grind fresh flour for our loaves!
We have recalibrated with brute strength, literally, our new millstone onto our mill.
Our mill is up and running and we are grinding fresh flour once again. This is foundational for our commitment to the healthiest and freshest bread in the Coachella Valley. This was an opportunity to test our metal, as they say. We would like to thank the team at Pleasant Hill Grain out of Nebraska, Darren Necker of Pleasant Hill Grain, and Bahnson's Machine Shop in Palm Springs. Specifically Enrique Cota at Bahnson's, whose patience, fortitude and assistance was foundational in getting our mill back up and running. Thank you Enrique! It took a village and we are forever grateful.
Debbie Wong and her family have a beautiful farm in Mecca. They grow delicious vegetables and fruit.
From time to time Bread and Flours will have access to some of their "peak fruit and vegetables".
The fun part of this is that we don't know when! When the opportunity comes we take it!

"Share a Loaf "
At times we have "gifted" a loaf to our clients, and we will say or leave a note saying, "to enjoy or share". Today one of our regular customers shared with me that she gave the loaf with some of her chicken noodle soup to some friends who are battling COVID. It made my day. In that spirit and inspiration, Bread and Flours will gift a loaf of "SoCal Sourdough 2.0" to a client who knows a friend, neighbor, or family member that is battling COVID. When you place an order with us, just send us an email letting us know that you would like to "share a loaf". We will add a loaf of our "SoCal Sourdough 2.0" to your order at no charge. Please be safe and follow Covid protocols when you deliver. We will add a note to your order, with the name of the person and well wishes for healing. Thank you.

Kristin's Organic Blueberry Preserves - $12.75 per jar
Like all of our preserves, we are constantly striving for an end product that is not too sweet and one that allows the true flavor of the fruit to shine. Though we love blueberry preserves (and pie), we often find that the sugar overpowers the fruit, and makes it hard to enjoy more than a bite. For this recipe, we slow-cooked the organic blueberries with just the needed amount of sugar and some freshly squeezed lemon juice. The result is a pop of chunky blueberry preserves with just a hint of acidity from the lemon juice. Perfectly balanced, just how we like all of our jarred concoctions. Kristin’s Citrus Marmalade with Vanilla Bean - $10.50 per jar
We love the complex layers that various citrus fruits bring to this marmalade. Tart grapefruit, soft orange, and bright lemon simmered down with sugar and aromatic vanilla bean. The vanilla takes a back seat to the tartness of the citrus but somehow mellows out the overall flavor.

At Bread and Flours, we are proud to be the first to bring this to our customers in the Coachella Valley. This Extra Virgin olive oil is the first cold press of the olives at their Mill. They use a mixture of Koroneiki, Arbosana, and Arbequina olives for the first cold press to produce the finest extra virgin olive oil. The Barioni's use no pesticides or chemicals on their olive trees and this oil has a distinct flavor of green, mellow notes giving you a little tickle in the back of your throat. "Yes to Yecora" Sourdough - Loaf Pan - $8.75
Yecora Rojo is the staple grain of this delicious bread. A grain, that has mild nuanced flavors. Soft, mellow, a stepping stone grain for those interested in diving into bolder flavors on the scale. Yecora Rojo was developed by the International Maize & Wheat Improvement Center in Cooperation with the Mexican Ministry of Agriculture in Mexico. One single grain and one hundred percent of fresh house milled stone-ground Yecora Rojo. This grain is grown, picked, and bagged in the Imperial Valley, and is a hard red wheat.
The complete seed and all its components are used in this loaf.

Organic Pima Club Sourdough - Loaf Pan - $12.00
I am grateful to Kurt, one of our grain guys, who introduced me to this Organic Pima Club. Little did I know, through our hot summer, there was gold right before our eyes were waiting to be discovered. This grain was thought to be extinct and was re-established on the Gila River Indian Reservation with the "Akiemel O'Odham" ( Pima, River people). This is one of the four varieties believed to have been brought to the region by an Italian Franciscan priest Father Eusebio Kino and exchanged with the natives. A well-known explorer, cartographer, missionary, and astronomer proved that the California Baja was not an island. He also was a defender on behalf of the Native people fighting against European settlers who attempted to enslave the natives. Today we bring you this beautiful Organic Pima Club Sourdough loaf, with organic raw unsalted sunflower seeds mixed into the crumb along with "sprouted" organic pumpkin seeds sprinkled on the top. The soaking and sprouting of the seeds help accessibility to the seeds beneficial nutrients. One would think that baking the seeds would harm them, yet baking increases certain bio-availability for our micro-biome to access these nutrients. Both seeds provide magnesium, copper, and zinc; studies suggest magnesium can increase our bone health and density. This is soft white wheat, that is awnless ( no long wheat hair connected to the seed casing) that is short, squat wheat, with a short head, differing from other grain varieties these short heads are called “club” grains or wheat, hence Pima Club. Along with the beautiful beige color from the fresh ground, house milled grain of the Pima Club, and the sunflower seeds' added texture in this loaf, make this a winner.

"The All-Love Sourdough - Boule Shape - $10.75
Since we are in desert, even on these beautiful 70F "Winter" days, you cannot go wrong with this loaf. So when we were putting together our "Olive" loaf, we thought "All-Love" had a better ring and message for us. This loaf has 30% House milled Stone Ground Yecora Rojo, 70% Organic Hard Red Wheat, California Manzanilla Olives, Lemon Zest, and Herbes de Provence. It is perfect for the person that is looking for savory with a hint of zippy lemons.
